Cookie policy
This Cookie Policy explains how ThePrintGoods (operated by Nordic Content Group Oy) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on theprintgoods.com.
It complements our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit it. They let the site remember things between page loads or between visits — for example, what’s in your cart, whether you’re logged in, or your language preference.
“Similar technologies” includes things like local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels — they serve similar purposes but use slightly different mechanisms. For simplicity, we just call all of them “cookies” in this policy.
2. Categories of cookies we use
a) Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the site to function. Without them, things like the shopping cart, the checkout process, and your login session can’t work. We don’t ask for consent for these — they’re set as soon as you visit the site, because the site can’t operate without them. Examples:
- WooCommerce cart cookie — keeps track of what’s in your cart between page loads (typically expires when you close your browser, or after a few days).
- Session cookie — identifies your browsing session (typically expires when you close your browser).
- CSRF / security cookies — protect against cross-site request forgery and similar attacks.
- Cookie consent record — remembers your cookie preferences so we don’t ask again every page (typically valid for 12 months).
b) Functional cookies
These remember preferences that improve your experience but aren’t strictly required. Examples:
- Currency preference (if applicable).
- Recently viewed products.
- Display preferences (e.g., the cookie banner stays dismissed once you’ve actioned it).
c) Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it — which pages are popular, where people get stuck, what content resonates. They are only set if you give consent via the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are placed on your device.
Typical analytics tools we may use include Google Analytics or a privacy-focused alternative such as Plausible. Specific tools in use will be listed in the cookie consent banner.
d) Marketing and advertising cookies
These can be used to show you relevant ads on other sites you visit, or to measure the performance of ads we run. They are only set if you give consent. If we don’t run any ad campaigns at the moment, no marketing cookies are placed at all — but this category is included for transparency in case we activate ads in the future.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies on the site are set by third-party services we use, not by us directly. These can include:
- PayPal and WooPayments / Stripe — payment processors that may set cookies on payment pages for fraud detection and session management.
- Google Analytics or other analytics tools, if active and consented to.
- Embedded content (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo) — if we ever embed videos or third-party widgets, they can set their own cookies when you load the page.
We don’t control how third parties use the cookies they set. Please check their own privacy and cookie policies for details.
4. How long cookies last
Cookies fall into two duration types:
- Session cookies — temporary, deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies — stay on your device for a set time (anywhere from a few hours to a few years), or until you delete them manually.
Specific durations are listed in our cookie consent banner for each cookie or category, where applicable.
5. Managing your cookie preferences
When you first visit the site, you’ll see a cookie banner with options to accept all, reject non-essential, or customize. You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Manage cookies in Chrome
- Firefox: Cookies in Firefox
- Safari: Cookies in Safari
- Edge: Cookies in Edge
Please note: blocking strictly necessary cookies will likely break parts of the site — including the shopping cart and checkout. Blocking analytics or marketing cookies will not affect functionality.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no widely agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT, so we currently rely on our cookie banner instead. If a clear, broadly accepted DNT standard emerges, we’ll update our approach.
7. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, when we add a new tool or remove an old one. The latest version is always on this page.
