Return policy

We want you to be happy with what you ordered. If something isn’t right, here’s exactly how returns work — including the parts that aren’t fun, like who pays for return shipping.

The short version

  • 14-day return window from the day you receive the order.
  • Return shipping is paid by the customer for change-of-mind returns.
  • If the item arrived damaged or wrong, we cover everything — return shipping, replacement, or full refund.
  • Items must be unworn, unwashed, with original tags.

EU 14-day right of withdrawal

Under EU consumer protection rules for distance contracts, customers in the European Union have a statutory right to withdraw from any online purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason.

We extend this same 14-day window to customers everywhere, EU or not. The rules below apply equally to EU and non-EU buyers.

How to start a return

  1. Email contact@theprintgoods.com within 14 days of receiving your order.
  2. Include your order number, the item(s) you want to return, and a brief reason (helps us improve, doesn’t affect your refund).
  3. We’ll reply within 24 hours (business days) with the return address and any specific instructions for your region.
  4. Pack the item carefully in its original packaging if possible, attach the return label or write the return address clearly, and ship it back.
  5. Keep your shipping receipt — proof of postage protects you if the package gets lost in transit.

Item condition requirements

To be eligible for a refund, the returned item must be:

  • Unworn and unwashed
  • In its original condition, with all tags attached
  • Free of stains, perfume, smoke, deodorant marks, or pet hair
  • Returned in its original packaging where possible (we understand it sometimes gets damaged)

If the item arrives back to us in a condition that prevents resale or restocking, we may issue only a partial refund or send the item back. We’ll always email you before doing this — no surprises.

Return shipping costs

For change-of-mind returns (you didn’t like it, the size was wrong, you bought it for the wrong person), the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. This is standard practice in apparel e-commerce and helps us keep prices low and standard shipping free for everyone.

For damaged, defective, or incorrect items (see below), we cover return shipping in full.

Refund timing

Once your return arrives back at our facility:

  • We inspect the item within 1–3 business days.
  • If it passes inspection, we issue a refund to your original payment method.
  • Refunds typically appear in your account within 5–10 business days after we issue them, depending on your bank or card issuer.
  • We send a confirmation email the moment the refund is processed on our end.

If your refund hasn’t arrived after 10 business days from our confirmation email, first contact your bank — they sometimes hold inbound refunds. If they confirm nothing has come through, email us and we’ll trace it.

Damaged, defective, or wrong items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, misprinted, or different from what you ordered, this is on us — not on you. Email us within 7 days of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • Photos of the issue (the more, the better — close-ups, full shots, the packaging if it was damaged)
  • A short description of what’s wrong

We’ll respond within 24 hours and offer one of two solutions:

  1. Free replacement — we’ll print and ship a new item at no cost. You usually don’t even need to return the original.
  2. Full refund — issued to your original payment method.

Your choice. If a return is needed for the damaged item, we cover the return shipping.

Wrong size

Because every shirt is made-to-order, we can’t restock returns for resale — they go to apparel recycling. That’s why we strongly recommend checking the size guide on each product page before ordering.

If a size doesn’t fit, you can still return it under the 14-day policy at your own shipping cost, or hand it down to someone it fits and order the right size for yourself. We don’t currently offer free exchanges, but we’re working on it.

What we can’t accept returns on

  • Custom or personalized items (e.g., orders where you submitted your own design or text), unless they arrived damaged or printed incorrectly.
  • Items returned more than 14 days after delivery.
  • Items that are clearly worn, washed, damaged after delivery, or otherwise not in resalable condition.
  • Gift cards (where applicable in the future).

Lost return shipments

Until your return reaches us, the package is your responsibility — that’s why we ask you to keep your shipping receipt. If the return is lost in transit and you have proof of postage, we’ll work with you to find a fair resolution.
